Joanna Torre, PA
Joanna Torre is a Physician Assistant joining our team with diverse experience in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She received a 4-year scholarship at the University of Guam where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology. She relocated to southern California and graduated from the USC School of Medicine as a certified Physician Assistant. Her medical career began immediately at FHP Long Beach in Geriatric Medicine and Orthopedics.
She transitioned to practice with Kaiser Permanente in the Department of Orthopedics in Oahu, Hawaii. She assisted in Total joint replacement (hip/knee), ACL reconstruction, and shoulder rotator cuff repair to include post-op care management.
Ms. Torre became a commissioned officer to the 1984th Army Hospital Unit assigned to Triple Army Medical Center on Oahu, in September 2000. She received orders for deployment to Iraq, February 2004 – September 2005 assigned as OIC for Redeployment assessments, and established an outpatient Orthopedics clinic. Captain Torre resigned her commission in September 2009 with an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army.
Ms. Torre resumed civilian practice in orthopedics, multifunctional medicine, correctional medicine, and pain management. She is certified to perform trigger point and ultrasound-guided joint injections for musculoskeletal pain.
At the end of the day, Ms. Torre spends time with her 2 canine boys, “Kapua” and “Sindalu”. She also commits to a personal mission as an advocate for Homeless Veterans here in Monterey and Salinas.
